I have been involved in productions since I was 11 years old (I’m now 33), and have made a very successful career out of it in a range of roles from stage crew, technician, lighting operator, sound operator, rigger, fly man, stage manager, production manager and educator. My passion is teaching people aged 25-44 the true essence of theatre – the ‘unspoken stage laws’ that apply to all theatrical crews around the world, that simply aren’t taught in production courses.
A sought-after production manager, I have worked in countless shows across the world, constantly having clients request me back time and time again. And why is that? Its not only about what I know, its about how I translate that to people who don’t know, and how I make the show go on, no matter the obstacle.
I specialise in theatrical productions, with 80% of those theatrical productions being in the school sector. Schools now expect a higher and higher level of production for their students, and the students in turn are left with an experience they’ll never forget. I strongly encourage school participation, and often insist that students are at the helms of as much of the show as possible – how else do you learn but to get stuck in!
